They then became known by the granite manufacturers as the "Syndie". Total assets of the Quincy Granite Quarries Company in 1900 were 3,671,150 and they had acquired 530 acres of quarry land in Quincy. In 1903 the company declared bankruptcy and went into receivership and deemed the bonds worthless.
