16. Aiiana salt mines (42" 48' N 12" 59' W) (ALAVA) The geological salt dome formation at the Aiiana salt mine is ovalshaped measuring Km. eastwest and approximately 3 Km. northsouth, covering a total surface area of just over 10 ~m*. These mines were initially exploited by small independent owners grouped into different consilios.
